Emmanuelle Mbang

It all began at the age of ten, with an aunt who believed in her before she even knew why. That confidence became a landmark, then a refuge, the day Emmanuelle had to learn to live without her. Writing then became her own space — the only place where her emotions could exist without being asked to justify themselves.

For years, she kept her stories secret, until she confided them to her best friend, who encouraged her to keep going. But when she dared to reveal her dream — to write, to tell stories, perhaps one day for film — the response from those around her was harsh. She was told again and again that it wasn't a serious future. One day, a notebook filled with her stories was destroyed. That day, something in her broke — without ever truly going out.

For a time, she followed the path expected of her. But writing always came back, in the margins, in the notebooks, in moments stolen between obligations. Until the day someone believed in her without reservation, and gave her back the courage to move fully toward who she was: an author.

Now settled in the United States, Emmanuelle writes what she long protected in silence. Her first novel was born from that very story — of resilience, of patience, and of the certainty that a sincere passion never truly fades, even when the world is slow to understand it.
